 Hello, eco-warriors!  The first post on this blog was on 05 Oct 2021, and the very last one was on 12 Feb 2022. I really do not have enough words to write this blog. This year was an incredible one like that one in everyone's life which teaches so much beyond what you know. And to end this year and start a new one every one has resolutions and here goes the only one for me that is "Continue this blog like a weekly magazine" I mean Ecosmic has a different place in my heart. Ecosmic started with one of my friend thanks to her. And to conclude this year I tried my best to work on the club I founded i.e "Green Talks". So, Let's begin with "Milk Packets.  Some people start their day with coffee or tea. We need milk to actually make it right! What do with the milk packets after you prepare coffee? These packets are made up of virgin plastic which is highly recyclable and almost 3 crore+ milk packets go into the landfills and they never get recycled. Only 10-15% of them are recycled.    Did you ever think where does our thrown away waste actually end up? Whatever waste we throw on the roads through wind or rain water enters the drainage system. And through sewer pipes mixes with waterways. All this trash reaches the ocean. Now this waste because of water current and wind gets collected in one place.  Which is then called a garbage patch. Five of the oceans already have these garbage patches: South Pacific,South Atlantic,North Atlantic,Indian,and North Pacific.the biggest one among these is the NORTH PACIFIC OCEAN.This is called the great pacific garbage patch.Right now, this garbage patch size is more than 6 lakh square miles.  Electricity is the main source of energy today. We can't imagine our life without electricity. But do you know? That the major electricity in india is still produced by thermal power plants. Which is the main source of air pollution. Despite this eletricity is not beingpowered to every village and city because of which everything is hampered from making dinner to the education of children.  The alternative is as we all know solar power!  

   Do you know? What is the second most littered item on the street? CHEWING GUMS  Chewing Gum is the second most littered item on the street. Do you know Chewing gum, which keeps our mouth minty and fresh, is made up of Synthetic plastic. Chewing gum, which actually makes us cool, is made up of synthetic plastic. Previously it was not like this chewing gums were made up of tree resin. But to circulate chewing gum commercially, and to keep the prices low, companies started mixing polymer. Anything that generates 1 lakh tonnes of waste, can’t be good for the environment. Right?  After we eat a chewing gum we throw it somewhere or stick it somewhere. La Niña is a climate pattern that describes the cooling of surface ocean waters along the tropical west coast of South America. La Nina is considered to be the counterpart to El Nino, which is characterized by unusually warm ocean temperatures in the equatorial region of the Pacific Ocean.  Hey all,              How are guys doing? Hope you are to be fine. So, today I will share a small fact rather than a solutions for a problems. So, recently I read a article which said that "India to witness coldest winters ever from December to February due to 'La Nina' " Some experts say that this is because of global warming.   Diwali is a festival which is also called the festival of lights. That’s why on diwali every house is decorated with lights. According to reports the day after diwali more than 800 tonnes of plastic waste is collected. The major reason is gifts and sweets. Obviously we can’t stop giving gifts because this is an important part of the celebration.  We can give plants which purify the air in the environment.  Snake plant  Peace lily  Areca palm Aloe vera Money plant These are the alternatives try out them. Period, this word might be uncomfortable to hear for some people but it is high to normalize it. A girl in one lifetime, generates 125 kgs of waste of sanitary napkins. And 121 million females in India use sanitary napkins.  Sanitary napkins take 500-800 years to decompose.  The solution for this is Menstrual cups. These are low cost and can be used upto 10-12 years. We spend about 12,000 on sanitary napkins. It's time to get changed. So, we women ♀ can shift from sanitary pads to menstrual cups! Thank you!

  So, from day to night, in our daily routine, knowingly or unknowingly we generate waste.  Be it from a plastic toothbrush, body wash or shampoo, or by anything we buy from the market. According to reports A person generates 2kg of waste per day. 2kg*365=730kg per year. Just multiply this with the world population. We produce 5,705,955,056,700 kg of waste.  Solution:- Bamboo toothbrush  Homemade toothpaste One natural soap Coconut oil as moisturiser Homemade shampoo Cloth Bag Package free/ loose products Eco bricks  Natural cleaners Composting Carry own water bottle, cutlery for street food. These are few steps to get rid of plastic waste and other types of waste in oour day to day life. By the way I am trying but not working.    In a year around 4.5 trillion cigarette butts are dumped in a year. Making it the most littered item on the earth. A single cigarette butt takes over 10 years to decompose completely. This problem was observed by Naman Gupta and she solved it. He made mosquito repellents and some useful and attractive pillows out of the fiber inside that.
