Dump The Glitter
It's been a while since I posted. I got a little busy because of my grade X boards. I will try to deliver good-quality content on a daily basis from now on. Let's get back to the Ecosmic- a space full of problems with possible solutions.
Today's topic is Glitter. Gitter as we all know it soo pretty, shiny, sparkly as well as DEADLY!!!
Glitter is made up of tiny pieces of reflective foil coated with colored plastic. From clothes to cosmetics to craft kits.
These tiny plastic particles are also making their way back to our plates. Hundred of marine animals eat plastics. The plastic particles after entering the ocean or sea quickly get covered by algae which makes them smell delicious to fish. This means that whenever we are consuming seafood we are directly or indirectly consuming microplastics or chemicals. Being a vegetarian will not help either- there are reports claiming to have plastic fibers in sea salt too.
If we talk about the solutions to overcome this problem there is no possible solution that really exists. Scientists are researching biodegradable glitter made from natural materials such as eucalyptus instead of plastics. Hope there is a solution to this problem soon.
This concludes that Glitters are soo small but they are quite dangerous when we consume them. they are a good example of the quote "Small things make big difference".
Thank you
