Bees {KeyStone Species 0.4}

Bees are a very important species on this planet if bees don't exist we don't exist.

 Let's start today's topic with a quote by Albert Einstein

"If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth would only be 4 years left to live"

 It's true!

Bees are declared to be the most important living being on the Earth.

 you might be wondering what's the relation between humans and bees?

Q1.why are they declared as the most important species?

Q2. What makes these bees special?

Importance of bees-

let's get back to class 4 we all have learned about cross-pollination. Let's understand it again.

Bees play a major role in the plants' reproduction system. Whenever these bees sit on the flowers the male part of the pollen grains gets stuck to their body and when these bees go to the female parts these pollen grains get into these ovaries and then the reproduction process gets completed.

Because of this process, we get 70% of the food.

1. Bees pollinate vegetables

we get vegetables like cucumber carrot broccoli cabbage onion eggplant are produced because of these bees.

2. Bees pollinate important fruits

apple kiwi mango muskmelon watermelon are produced because of these bees.

3. Bees pollinate coffee

we can live without coffee it's not that important. but it is a 100$ industry. it employs a lot of people and many lives are dependent on this.

4. Bees pollinate nuts

almonds and cashews will also get extinct if bees get extinct. these nuts provide nutrition to our body.

5. CLothing industry

60% of women in this world

75% of men in this world wear cotton clothes.

Cotton is produced by bees to help in their reproduction.

6. even animals depend on bees.

if corps are not there directly or indirectly it will affect animals too.

I hope you understood the importance of bees.

According to some reports In the USA from April 2020 to 2020 Bees population has declined up to 43%

Q3. Why are they getting extinct?

1. Use of pesticides.

we use pesticides to save our crops. There is one substance named NENICOTINOIDS. if they come in contact with this they enter into shock stage they even end up forgetting their home and the way and at last they die.

2. Parasites

These parasites suck up the blood of these bees which leads to their death. in some cases, even their whole colony can be destroyed too. This was discovered in 2006 CCD {colony collapse disorder}

3. Lack of awareness
