Chewing gums!

Do you know? What is the second most littered item on the street?

CHEWING GUMS

Chewing Gum is the second most littered item on the street. Do you know Chewing gum, which keeps our mouth minty and fresh, is made up of Synthetic plastic. Chewing gum, which actually makes us cool, is made up of synthetic plastic. Previously it was not like this chewing gums were made up of tree resin. But to circulate chewing gum commercially, and to keep the prices low, companies started mixing polymer. Anything that generates 1 lakh tonnes of waste, can’t be good for the environment. Right?

After we eat a chewing gum we throw it somewhere or stick it somewhere. Actually, for decomposition of chewing gum, it takes 50-500 years.the 1st chewing gum we chewed is still lying around somewhere. And affecting the environment. The chewing gum which is not thrown in the dustbins, travels through water sources collecting toxins and reaches the water bodies. And fishes consume it thinking it’s food and then we consume those fishes. This circle ends up affecting us only. Singapore has banned chewing gum. Let's stop littering chewing gums. If you still wanna chew them you can buy biodegradable chewing gums.
