Kitchen Waste!
In the last post we got to know about the importance of segregation of waste i.e Bio-degradable and Non-Biodegrable waste! In today's blog you are gonna find the way to decompose bio-degrable waste.
What do you do with your kitchen waste?
Our kitchen generates a lot of waste throughout the day.Whether it be vegetable peel,leftover food or rotten vegetables. All of this waste goes into the dustbin. But what if all this waste is used to make something productive?
#Compost
The same compost which we buy from the market with money to keep our plants nourished. What if we make the same compost at home?
Almost 60% of waste in a day that we generate comes from our kitchen. The waste gets mixed and gets collected in landfills and methane gas gets released which is a greenhouse gas.and this directly or indirectly pollutes our soil ,air, water.
So basically we’re polluting earth with something that is used to heal earth.
How do we make compost? Things you would need to make compost are:-
Kitchen waste
Dry leaves
Pot
Microbes{buttermilk}
A lid
1st add the green waste then the browns (dry leaves) then add the microbes i.e buttermilk and continue till the pot gets filled and keep it in a corner where it does not rain and leave it for 2 to 3 months.
