How many emails are there in your inbox right now?

If I say each and every mail is polluting the environment.

What would be your reaction?

Do you know where your emails are even stored?

In different corners of the world they are saved in servers. And to run these servers a lot of electricity is needed. And even today most of it is generated from fossil fuels. Which is leading to extreme air pollution. So directly or indirectly, emails generate co2 which is harming the environment. According to studies, one spam message produces 0.3 grams of co2. Normal email 4 grams and attachment emails generate around 50 grams of co2.Around 60 billion spam emails are sent in one day. Which means 18,00,000 kgs of co2.

What can we do?

  • Delete useless mails.

  • Delete your spam.

  • Unsubscribe unwanted emails.

  • Turn off social media mail notifications

  • Clean your trash bins.

  • Clean your inbox whenever possible.
